We decided to move the backend (previously server.fifthwit.net) to a new server at backend.pstream.mov.

We've also introduced some new backend servers, so you can now choose which one you want to use. Sorry for all the downtime!

I hope everyone has a great holiday season this year, and thank you to everyone who has supported P-Stream! I'm very happy to have this community and give you all free movies and tv. This is a pretty big update thats been in the works, but I wanted to get it out before Christmas! Hopefully, we'll have another smaller update before the end of the year!

Additions:
- Revamped the captions menu to sort by language
- Added a new Auto Select caption button to automatically choose and enable a caption!
- Added a new setting to customize the keyboard shortcuts!
- Added a new Minimal Cards setting to hide the bottom text on all media cards
- Improved visual feedback when a video is not found 
- Reworked the extensions onboarding page to reference the new userscript alternative
- Added a new button to mark a movie as watched from the details modal
- Added new Cobalt theme
- Added new Febbox usage indicator under the token input
- Added a new dropdown to change the sorting of your bookmarks or watching section (A-Z, Z-A, release date, etc)!

Fixes:
- Improved caption selection logic to be more consistent
- Improved auto quality selection logic to be more consistent
- Improved buffering logic to load the video quicker and be more stable
- Fixed "Similar" section showing the wrong content
- Fixed carousel title padding and alignment
- Fixed search bar placement within the PWA on iOS
- Fixed many other small bugs and issues!

      <title>New Userscript alternative to the extension!</title>
      <description>If you prefer to use a userscript instead of the extension, you now have the option! 
      
It should work almost exactly the same as the extension, but without the need to install an extension. Unfortunately, our Firefox extension store page keeps getting taken down, so this is the alternative until we can get it back up or if you install the .xpi manually.

Some things to note:

- The extension is still the most reliable method!
- This does not currently work in Safari or Orion due to Webkit’s limitations with webRequest APIs. :(

      <description>Yes this is unfortunate, Xprime has been disabled due to funding issues on their end. 

Xprime asked if we could introduce ads to P-Stream, and after some consideration and ad testing last week, the P-Stream team and I have decided not to add ads to P-Stream. Ads are not only unattractive, but unsafe and against the team's morals. 

movie-web (what P-Stream was forked from) was created to be easily self-hostable and ad free. And though the media landscape has changed (cors on streams and our scrapers getting blocked) we've still take this into consideration. I still believe P-Stream is better without ads, and our single banner ad reflects this; its unobtrusive and safe. 

Xprime may come back in the future, but we're already working on a new source that should be just as good or better. Plus we will continue to support FED API and all the extension sources that make P-Stream (and self hosted sites) amazing.

      <description>Many awesome changes and fixes in this release! Some seasonal additions as well! And yes, we skipped a version, it was super small.

Additions:
- Added auto-resume on playback error setting. Enabled by default. When enabled, P-Stream will automatically resume playback from the next source if the current source fails.
- Added new trailers and similar media carousels to the details modal!
- Added Transcript view for subtitles! View the entire transcript of the current subtitle.
- Added nickname to user account settings (used in the XP app and for watch parties!)
- Added Frost and Christmas themes! 🎄
- Added Christmas movies list to all movies lists page!
- Added a new subtitle source: Granite!
- Migration features, such as downloading your data, now includes your settings and preferences!

Fixes:
- Fixed Rotten Tomatoes scores not being displayed correctly!
- Fixed device name decryption errors causing the settings page to be inaccessible.
- Fixed More Content pages when our API fails, now shows correct media when our API fails and also scrolls to the top. Big fix for self hosters.
- Fixed source selection part not respecting disabled sources.
- Fixed some stutters when scrolling through the discover page. Again.
- Fixed captions not working for MP4 sources.
- Fixed subtitle delay getting reset when double pressing to copy.

      <description>Lots of quality of life improvements and changes and a huge number of bugs fixed!

Additions:
- Made the skip intro button available to all users, not just those with a febbox token. Though the one with febbox is still the best quality!
- Added a new "Last Used Source" setting. This will automatically prioritize the source that successfully provided content for the previous episode.
- Improved thumbnail generation to be more accurate. Now generates 127 thumbnails instead of 63, and generates them randomly rather than sequentially.
- Added the ability to copy a specific subtitle with its delay value to your clipboard and a paste button to paste it as the current subtitle. Great for moving subtitles between sources!
- Reworked the settings page to be more user friendly on mobile devices. It's now broken into seperate pages for each section.
- Added a subtle fade in effect to all images being loaded.
- Added new toggle to disable the caption background blur effect. This fixes flickering on some browsers with HDR content.
- Added the ability to bookmark an entire movie collection at once as a group.
- Added the ability to rename and edit bookmark groups.
- Added the ability to edit the title and year of a bookmark.
- Moved reorder button to the settings page.
- Hid arrow buttons on carousels when at the start or end of the carousel. (Thanks @Smith M.)
- Added a border to the time stamp popup when hovering over the progress bar. (Thanks @Zisra)

Fixes:
- Fixed watch progress getting reset when using manual source selection.
- Encoded all search queries so it's now possible to search for movies and shows with special characters like "V/H/S".
- Fixed native subtitles not being displayed correctly and not showing in PiP and for mp4 streams.
- Fixed the PiP button not displaying on mobile devices anymore.
- Reworked the discover page to load much faster and more efficiently.
- Fixed the febbox token input not fitting correctly on mobile devices.
- Fixed finished and unwatched movies and episodes being saved, yet never being shown. They wont save anymore!
- 0-9 keyboard shortcuts to skip to 0-90% progress no longer work when other keys are held down.
- Fixed the search bar not being positioned correctly on mobile devices, especially within the PWA.
- Fixed "i" being shown as "I" in subtitles, this was an issue with some languages that use lowercase "i" intentionally.
- Fixed watch parties not able to be joined from the home page.
- Updated the style of many outdated elements on the site. 
- Various other minor bugs squashed!

      <title>Extension issue for Firefox!</title>
      <description>If you're using Firefox with the P-Stream extension, you may have noticed that it says updates are unavailable and that the extension is violating policies. Yikes!

Heres what happened: I accidently deleted my Firefox account that had the P-Stream extension. 
The extension did NOT violate any policies, it was just deleted. For some it says that when it gets removed.

I just created a new account and re-submitted it, so it should be back in the store soon. I'll post here when it is.
Just to clarify, the extension is still working perfectly fine, it's just the updates that are not working. When the extension is back in the store, you can update it to the latest version.

      <title>Clarifying current source issues</title>
      <description>I wanted to appologize for some recent issues with FED API and Vidify. 
Firstly, I wanted to note that P-Stream does not host or control any of the content. Everything is streamed from third party sources.

Vidify:
You may have noticed (hopefully not) that Vidify has been showing some NSFW content. This is due to protections they have to prevent us from using them as a source.
This should now be resolved, and hopefully prevented in the future.


FED API:
We’re aware of the issues with FED API and are looking into it. However, the problem is with febbox, not the FED API scraper.
Once FED API gets the link from febbox it’s entirely out of our control. There’s not much we can do, but maybe there’s something we can find to answer why this is happening and hopefully prevent it.
Please be patient. I suggest using another source, or use the “open in” download option to stream the febbox mp4 within the player of your choice!

- As you may have noticed, there is a new notifications menu for viewing updates and news on the site! Works through RSS, so you can add movie release dates! Check out the settings page to add custom feeds!
- Added bookmark groups. Open the details modal to add any item to a group, even multiple! Sort your groups by tapping the pencil icon on the home page!
- Added a dedicated bookmarks page. Useful when you have many bookmarks, enabling Carousel view allows them to be limited to 20 items, just like the Discover carousels.
- You can now hold space or hold the screen to 2x the video!
- Numerous updates to the details modal. A new mark the whole season as watched button and general design updates.
- Updated the featured carousel to have smoother transitions and show trending movies if you enable it on the homepage. (instead of editor picks)
- Improved corrupt UTF-8 subtitle handling.
- Added example Febbox token modal.
- Fixed an issue that prevented logging in with a custom passphrase.
- Minor design improvements all over the site.
- LOTTTSSS of under-the-hood changes and improvements! Sources will now load a LOT faster.
