Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues

Do you use YouTube Premium?

No, I don't use YouTube Premium

My feature request

Could the -90 degrees fullscreen rotation option be implemented? The app currently has 90 degrees fullscreen rotation but sometimes I want my home key to be on the left fullscreen mode without having to use “disable lock rotation” in the Control Centre.
This was that right-angle thingy also in uYouEnhanced.

Ah I see, are you asking for a setting that forces it to this orientation always, or a player button that rotates the screen 90 degrees for each press?

A player button that rotates the screen -90 or 270 degrees. We already have the +90 degree one.
I also noticed that I have to have "Portrait full screen" enabled for it to Fullscreen in portrait. This option didn't exist on Enhanced but the "action" was still true for that application. That's a good change I suppose.. having the options, I mean. Though it seemed more seamless on Enhanced as I assume that worked on the principle that if it's a portrait video, fullscreen meant portrait Fullscreen.

To add to this, in uYou (and its various forks), "Fullscreen to the Right" meant that the rotation was 90deg anticlockwise (so that the home button was on the left), whereas "Fullscreen to the Right" in YTLitePlus does the exact opposite action (90deg clockwise, home button on the right), and in fact just duplicates the default rotation setting of YouTube. It's quite confusing.

(Granted, "Fullscreen to the Right" in uYou has been completely non-functional for some time now, so at the moment both uYou and YTLitePlus technically have identical behaviour 🤣)

Apparently this was added in v5, but I cannot find the option. Let me know if you can

It didn't show up in the changelog for 5.0 or 5.0.1, so maybe it was removed from the final release?
