Device info

  • iOS/iPadOS version: 17.5.1
  • Device model: iPhone 13 Pro
  • Sideload tool (AltStore, Sideloadly, TrollStore,...): AltStore
  • The specific version of YTLitePlus (latest or newest is NOT a version number!): 19.23.3-4.0.1

Describe the bug

It happened twice in two days, so not on every video, though I've never had this before happening using YTLitePlus.

A couple of times, before watching a video I got normal YT ads, check screenshots below.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Check settings
    2024-06-11 22 18 22
  2. Open Video
  3. Get ads
    2024-06-11 22 18 32
    2024-06-11 22 18 29

Crash log (if the app crashes)

No response

Are you using the newest version of YTLitePlus? If not, why?

✅ Yes, I'm using the latest version of YTLitePlus right now

Does the issue happen with the official YouTube from AppStore?

❌ No, It doesn't

Same issue here on my iPad 6th Gen with iOS 15.4 (installed w/ TrollStore). Also seeing the sponsored banner ads at the top of the homepage.

Wondering if this is due to the server side injection of ads from YouTube? I faced the same issue as well on my app. No ads yet on my PC (UblockOrgin + Chrome).

Probably because of this. I can't reproduce on purpose myself, yesterday was watching quite a bit and never got an ad. Typical YouTube A/B testing I suppose.

Strange can't reproduce myself

I’m not experiencing any embedded ads, but I am occasionally seeing the banner ads at the top of the Home playlist.

Also have this issue. iPhone 12 Pro Max 17.5.1 IOS 4.0 YT lite plus. My theory is that its the new ad injection T_T

From what I’ve discovered through testing is that Google has started implementing these changes within the last few versions. I’ve gone back to 19.21.3. So far it seems to have dealt with the injection and banner issues.

Edit: Spoke too soon, I’m still getting banners. But no injections, so that’s a plus.
